About the Demo Video above
I found the old tape of Peter and Birgit conducting a seminar on 19 Dec 2000: had thought had lost it. So burned it to dvd video for the club to sell and raise some dollars. And then we talked to a fitness club in Singapore and the acting gen manager asked for a demo video to show his marketing department. So I took some clips from that seminar, and put in some editing time (3 hours plus) - well it is supposed to be for corporate presentation to this club and perhaps for others, so cant do without some music, titles and text intro - had to search around for that. And lots of trial rendering times to get the smallest clip for web viewing. (the m2v file is 150mb)
End result is this 2 min video clip above.

Melaka trip report

We went to Melaka!
The plan was to practise... ha ha ha ha.. seemed more like that was the excuse for endless eating and shopping! Melaka is a great place to buy furniture and knickknacks! And pineapple tarts! My first time buying fresh from the oven - the only other time I had them fresher was when my mother baked them.
The Aikikai club there was quite nice : at the 4th floor of an office block. Run by Marcus Sensei. Lots of beginners: well it is a new club - about one year old or so. The main dojo is in KL - Marcus came down to Melaka for that sunday just because we were going.. it is probably a good practise : who knows what kind of visitors would challenge his instructors and students, right?

Anyway we ate so much and so were not very intimidating to anybody.
In short, I would think that while the practise was good and we were all happy knowing more new friends, we seemed to be huffing and puffing more than the natives - is it because we are pretty unfit overall?.. the ventilation was indeed bad, but is that an excuse, I wonder? Well the kids and the people there seemed less strained than we were. Are we able to perform only within a narrow range of parameters? ha ha. Maybe it is because we were more serious that day as well. heh. Brings to mind Tendokan experiences of similar nature - Singapore students cannot keep up, etc. umm i seem to remember i could keep up better at Tendokan though the pace was a bit harder. It was 2 years ago.. time to trim up the cardiovascular fitness is what i say to myself.
More pics below. Video clips will be posted on multiply.com site. stay posted
